Connecticut #1 - Chapter 6

The CT 1 Chapter 6 (NCT) held its last two campouts of the year at Mineral Springs Family Campground in Stafford, CT. Grand Master George Greytek joined NCT members for the Turkey Roast festivities on October 22. Ten turkeys were cooked on an outside grill in spite of the rainy weekend. All members pitched in to help make the turkey dinner with all the fixins’ a memorable event. The ladies brought their best dessert to compliment the delicious dinner.
After the dinner, Master of Travel, Raymond Geer presented the Grand Master with a $500.00 check for the Quality of Life Fund. This is a practice that NCT has performed for many years. The camping club also donates nonperishable goods to the local food bank in Stafford Springs.
The evening continued with a Halloween Costume Parade for young and old alike, Trick or Treating and then the famous “Beanbag Baseball Game” was played. The Grand Master has quite a novel pitch but couldn’t help the men’s team overcome a hefty lead by the ladies’ team. The girls whomped the guys—23 to 12. Wait until next year!!
Wagon Master Norm Gobelle and his wife Ruth did a wonderful job of planning the festivities for the two weekends. The next get-together is planned for a Holiday Campin’ on December 3 for a dinner at the Groton Inn and Suites. The members will be bringing “Toys for Tots” which the Marines will be present to collect and deliver.

Virginia Cardinals - Chapter 86

     HAPPY FALL GREETINGS:
Am writing this note the last of October with the fall beauties around for all to see. God really does a wonderful job providing many beauties for us to enjoy. We just need to protect and take care of our surroundings.
It’s almost time for us in Rixeyville, Virginia to put away our camper for the winter. One last trip this month and then we’ll think about camping in April 2006. Hope everyone had many happy campouts this past year. Our last campout was in September in Winchester, Virginia. Everyone had a good time, visiting, eating and of course, always telling some jokes.
Have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and A HAPPY AND JOYOUS NEW YEAR.

Northern Knights - Chapter 107

The Michigan State Rally, hosted by the Northern Knights, #107 is over and what a great Rally it was, starting by Brother Phil Smith pulling in Neil & Annette Hammond. The opening was made by Rally Chairman Dale Verran (also the State Director). The State Chaplain, Jack Critchlow, opened with prayer. The Pledge to the American Flag was given. The National Chaplain, Cecil McCollum and Margie, National Nominating Chairman, Neil Hammond and Annette, were in attendance. We had 46 rigs present 1 from Texas, 1 from Georgia, 8 from Ohio, 1 from Florida and 35 from Michigan. Dale said we are here for 3 reasons, to renew old friendship, to make new friends and most of all to have fun. In which we did. We had two guests, John & Shari Shearer, from Lewiston. John is a Fellowcraft and will receive his Master Mason in September, then they will join the Northern Knights. John and Shari are friends of Ron and Pat Weidman of the Hiram Hobo’s #51.
At our October meeting Hiram Hobo’s #51 joined us at Yogi Bear Campground at Grayling, Michigan. On Saturday, October 8th, we had a wedding at the cam put. Don Palmer married Joyce Pickel.
