Text Box: CALIFORNIA STATE NEWS
Well, here we are at the end of another year. We have survived ‘trick or treat’ and a delicious Thanksgiving and some folks are still doing their last minute Christmas shopping and between these activities we have enjoyed beautiful fall camping and Christmas Luncheons with our NCT camping friends. And now we look forward to another fun year of camping.
I must have goofed what with the new mailing address but for some reason my article for the last NEWS TO CAMPERS did not get printed but thanks to Gold Panners Nancy Buddington for her remarks about the 9th District/California State Rally in March 2006 and the very special entertainment that will be there.
This Rally is for everyone to enjoy and the District Director Ole Olson and wife Darlene and State Director Jerry Wohlfarth and wife Norma have done a fine job to get the location where it will accommodate the most campers, including homeward-bound Snowbirds We hope you will attend. You’ll be treated so many ways you’re bound to like some of them.
There will be goodie bags for each rig. Door Prizes for each rig as well as a raffle and a silent auction. An arts and crafts show and sale. Card games, cribbage or puzzles. The theme is Hawaiian attire and there will be a Hawaiian dress-up parade. Something for every one!!!!!
There are sightseeing tours. Several meals including soup and dessert on Sunday night. Two catered dinners, and old fashioned country breakfast, and a hot dog and ice cream supper.
We will be very honored on Wednesday evening to have Fred Sorsabal, Grand Master of California, and several other Grand Officers. The assistant Grand Lecturer and the District Inspector and the local Masons have been invited.
The Directors have secured entertainment for us too. The most exciting is the BLACK IRISH BAND, who performed at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.. We are very fortunate to have them again.
What fun things does your Chapter have on the agenda? Maybe your chapter would like to ‘double up’ with another group and swap ideas. The following list contains the name of the California Chapters, with the address, and the phone number and e-mail (if available) of the MOT of the chapter. Call for camping dates and etc.
