DISTRICT—5 PA STATE DIRECTOR—JIM JACKSON

Hello to all NCT members. I would like to introduce myself to you as the new PA State Director.
My name is H. Jim Jackson. I’m a retired Steelworker. My wife’s name is Pat and we have been married for 41 years. We have two sons and five grandchildren. Pat and I are pleased to serve as State Director for the next 2 years. We would like to thank everyone that has helped us in the past years and hope you continue to do so in the next couple years.
I would like to thank everyone that welcomed us to their campouts during the summer. I know we missed some clubs but hope to take care of that this coming summer. We are very pleased to announce that at the International Rally at Essex Junction that PA took the gold star with 52 rigs present. A good time was held by all. PA chapters also took several ribbons in.
If anyone ahs any recommendations for the PA State Rally 2006-2007 please contact me at K3VRU@comcast.net., phone 724-727-7250 or snail mail, 620 Grange Drive, Apollo, PA 15613.
Our hats are off to the YNCT members for the great entertainment. They are great. It is wonderful to see so much from the young people. Keep up the good work in the YNCT.
And now,,,,,,,,I have to ask for some help. Our long time youth director Debbie, will not be able to make the State Rally this year. She is stepping down as the YNCT youth director. So needless to say I need a Youth Director and Assistant Youth Director. I think two couples would be ideal. You will also notice that in the sign up sheet I have stated that if you are bringing youths (we hope you are) you will be expected to help some during the Rally. If I cannot find someone to take the Directorship I will be forced to drop the YNCT activities for the PA Rally. PA is the only state left with and YNCT and I sure don’t want to lose it.
I also need someone to put up the signs for the Rally. The group that normally did that cannot anymore. Anyone interested please contact me.
I hope that all of you Snowbirds, Homebirds and down here the Winter Texans have a very good Winter looking to Spring.
Thank You
Jim Jackson PA State Director

I have arrived safely back in Yuma and am ready for our winter of camping. There are quite a few of our winter snowbirds already here and enjoying the sun and warm weather. (Today is only 90 degreed!!)
We had our first campout October 20-23 at Rio Del Sol RV Haven in Big River, CA. We had 14 rigs present and that included quite a few that were passing through on their way to their winter home. We all enjoyed much conversation to catch up on all the news. Of course, we ate very well with a potluck on Friday, pancake breakfast on Saturday, and a chili feed on Saturday. We engaged in a holt bean bag baseball game—final score being 19-11. Then there was a trip to a local “desert bar.” five miles out in the desert over a winding gravel road is the “Nellie E Saloon” in the Buckskin Mountains on the site of an old copper mine. There is also a church there that the present owner has constructed. A very informative historical trip.
Our campouts are listed in the September News To Campers, but I shall list them here also. January 26-29, 2006 will find us at a new place in Gila Bend called Augie’s Quail End Trail. This would be close to the Phoenix area should you like to come camping with us. We love to have company! February 23-26, 2006 will find us at Olgilby Road just outside of Yuma in California for a dry camp weekend. This is always a great time as it is still cool in the evenings so we can have a campfire and make s’mores. March 23-26, 2006 will take us to Dateland Palms RV Park in Dateland, AZ. This is one of our favorite places even though the trains are close by !! So, if you are spending the winter in the area or just passing by, do drop in on us and we will show you some desert hospitality.
The farther you go, the more likely it is you left the coffeemaker on!!

Michigan State, had their summer meeting during the State Rally, I would like to remind everyone how important it is to vote, we have legislation coming up to vote on changes in the By-Laws, 3rd Vice President and Trustee. Michigan only had 17 votes last time, and I urge the members to VOTE. I would also like to stress how important the Operations Manual is and good communications between the MOT and WM, and most important the Secretary, as she keeps everyone informed. A nominating committee, consisting of Fred Schneider, Chairman, Russ Helmer and Dean Moore, will suggest to the membership in May, someone for State Director and State Secretary/Treasurer. I would like to have a State Publicity chairman. Our next meeting is May 20, 2006, a luncheon at noon with our meeting to follow at the Masonic Pathways in Alma.

Thank you
Dale Verran, MI State Director
Lue Verran, State Secretary-Treasurer
